HP wanted to seed the boxes of their most popular printers with free evaluation software in time for the holiday buying season. Because these printers are manufactured regionally, HP needed a channel for manufacturing centers to directly order and distribute just-in-time inventory. |

We created an online ordering system, which allowed manufacturers to order the evaluation software based on short term pick-and-pack needs and gave them the ability to pay with internal purchase order numbers. We also managed the design and build of the kits, which included packaging, CD and booklet content management, worldwide replication, inventory management, and fulfillment—all delivered in less than 5 weeks and in multiple versions. And finally, we provided weekly order activity and consumer activation tracking back to the client.
Over the course of the holiday season, over a quarter of a million of these pieces were distributed throughout the United States. The campaign was so successful that it was duplicated the following spring for the U.S. and for the Asia Pacific region. We made content updates and distributed a second run of 100,000 units, followed by a third run of 60,000 for the APAC market.
