Microsoft Windows Media Division |

The Windows Media marketing team had
an interesting problem: they had a groundbreaking software product
that had many uses, and a complex adoption process. As they
went out to speak with customers (typically hardware manufacturers
and content providers) about PlaysForSure technology, they realized
that the steps for adoption were complex, and needed to present
them in a leave-behind that would encourage adoption. |

We worked with the Windows Media marketing
team over the course of 3 months to deconstruct the complex
technology adoption process for PlaysForSure technology. We
distilled the process down to a total of seven steps, which
ranged from implementation to logo usage; to the multiple legal
agreements that a company needed to sign. Based on this process,
Catalysis designed a dynamic kit that spoke to multiple device
manufacturers, and included a resource CD with complete documentation
on the steps required to adopt the technology. The resource
kit was rolled out at the Consumer Electronic Show in 2004,
and has been reproduced multiple times since.
