Andrés has been developing software professionally since 1996 and became part of the Catalysis team in August of 2010. Since that time, Andrés has used his versatile development skillset to solve a variety of challenges presented to our company, while integrating efficient methodologies to improve our development cycle.
Andrés has played multiple roles in the development cycle, including development lead, tools developer, systems developer, and content developer. With extensive experience in game development, including over 10 published titles, Andrés applies his problem solving skills to tackle new challenges that are part of the rapidly changing environments of today's technologies.
Andrés enjoys spending time with his wife and son, playing guitar, playing soccer in multiple Seattle leagues, and going to the Seattle Sounders games.

As a project manager for Catalysis, Andrew is responsible for managing the development, execution, analysis, and refinement of marketing campaigns. He works in tandem with the client, internal, and external resources to deliver successful outcomes.
Prior to Catalysis, Andrew worked as a media relations/production assistant for Retail Entertainment Design, managing their media library, coordinating assets, and producing custom video content for major labels and retailers. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing from Washington State University.
When away from work, Andrew has a passion for skiing and is a bit of a gym rat — most nights you can find him trying to out-work his wife. He also loves spending time researching new gizmos and sports cars, or just hanging out with family and friends.

Connor wears many hats at Catalysis. His primary role involves supporting the finance team by helping manage the accounting needs of the company, but he also works with the marketing analytics group, providing clients with valuable insight by turning their data into digestible information. Connor also helps support the company’s network operations by monitoring the health of the systems on a daily basis.
Before joining Catalysis, Connor studied engineering at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, then moved on to Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business in California, where he graduated with a degree in Accounting and Information Systems. While he does miss the near perfect weather in California’s Bay Area, he is happy to return to the beautiful Pacific Northwest where he was raised.
Despite choosing not to pursue a career in engineering, Connor still enjoys researching and learning about the latest scientific and technological developments. He has also recently started on the lifelong journey of learning how to swing a golf club.

As an interactive producer at Catalysis, David assists the project managers with project implementation and management, with a specific focus on business analysis and coordination of documentation and design efforts between the project management and development teams.
Prior to joining Catalysis, David held a number of different jobs, including math teacher, construction worker, investment professional, and part-time ski instructor. He attended graduate school at Iowa State University and was on the fast track to becoming a mathematics professor until he discovered the Northwest and decided to move to Seattle. He still roots for the Iowa State Cyclones, even though that is often a disappointing proposition.
When not at work, David is usually roaming around in the Cascade mountains hiking, skiing, climbing, or doing something else that involves getting muddy.

Since joining Catalysis in 2001, Derek is the solo pilot who installs, manages, and supports all the backend equipment that keeps Catalysis running at an optimal level each day. During his tenure, Derek has seen the back end infrastructure grow from seven servers to over 65 and has brought SQL clustering, Web server load balancing, optimized backup systems, Metro Fiber Internet connectivity, and System monitoring and alerting to Catalysis. Most recently he started a server consolidation using Microsoft Hyper-V. Derek has many years of experience in the IT industry.
Prior to Catalysis, he led the implementation of a server-wide migration and consolidation from Novell to Windows NT at Eddie Bauer's corporate office. He has also worked for the City of Seattle Mayor's Office, and was on the Microsoft Windows 95 test team.
A Southern California transplant, Derek can often be found attending cooking classes, playing tennis, biking, boating, or entertaining friends with his wife, Deborah and his best friend Cooper.

Doug has overseen the evolution of Catalysis since its inception in 1992. He strives to perfect a collaborative methodology which joins client requirements, customer needs, technology, and art to deliver successful marketing programs. He is naturally geeked about the latest interactive marketing possibilities, while respectful of the garbage pile of failed "hot new things" when deciding on an approach for new projects.
Prior to Catalysis, Doug's previous jobs included work on both sides of the federal policy system at NPR's All Things Considered and the US House of Representatives. He has his BA from Williams College.
When not at Catalysis, Doug can be found realizing the benefits of open adoption with his three kids. You can usually find him cooking with his family, clearing his mind of all things work-related. Recent successes include: dulce de leche, pasta, sourdough bread, and the tastiest ice cream ever made — no marketing required.

Doug has been with Catalysis since 2002. Over that time, Catalysis has gone through many changes, and Doug has been integral to implementing many company-wide systems and processes. Doug is constantly striving for better business metrics, streamlining business processes, and achieving higher efficiency for greater client outcomes.
Prior to Catalysis, Doug spent over 10 years in small businesses management consulting, including strategic planning, financial modeling, and enterprise system integrations. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Washington in Business Administration with a focus on Finance, and an MBA from Seattle University.
While not at Catalysis, Doug can be found enjoying the outdoors with his family, including activities such as technical mountain climbing, hiking, kayaking and wildlife photography. He also enjoys competition and trains regularly for competitive powerlifting.

Emily's intuitive understanding of client needs and wants, an ability to think outside the box, a penchant for quick articulation, and a talent for imposing a structural framework when there is none, have helped her consistently deliver high-impact solutions across a wide range of clients including: The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The National PTA, Porsche, Holland America, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Amazon.
When not busy crafting marketing strategies, managing projects, or wrangling clients, Emily can usually be found discussing psychology and political theory. An undergraduate thesis about the “charismatic power of violence” and an obsessive devotion to the West Wing has led her to the potentially misplaced perception that she is a lay political philosopher. This continues to be a highly debated belief. Sometimes she also rides a horse, reads a book, watches football, or engages in activities designed to benefit her physical fitness.

As the lead developer, Eric handles a bit of everything in the software development lifecycle, from technical design to execution. In his eight years at Catalysis, he has overseen the development and rollout of key internal systems as well as major client campaigns, along with a myriad of research and development aimed at providing more capability in our client offerings.
Before coming to Catalysis, Eric worked as an analytical chemist, microbiologist, and eventually as a programmer working on projects ranging from websites to financial management applications to telecom back office software and digital puppetry systems. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Central Washington University and knows more about parasites than you might care to learn.
Outside of work he spends as much time outdoors with his family as he can, and when not doing that spends it indoors building things — none of which are robot armies bent on taking over the world, so you can rest easy.

After earning a BA in recreation from the University of Utah and BFA in ballet from Cornish College of the Arts, Judy spent 20 years making her mark as a sales representative for electronic component manufacturers. By also having been manager and buyer for a gift shop, she has experience in all aspects of the sales and marketing game.

As an interactive producer for Catalysis, Kelsey assists the project management team with creating and implementing digital marketing campaigns for our clients.
Before starting at Catalysis, Kelsey worked for Redmond Technology Partners as relevance and quality analyst for Microsoft Online Advertising. As a program services manager, Matt is responsible for the overall project lifecycle of Catalysis' project engagements. With over 16 years of experience in the integrated digital marketing and technology services industry, Matt's role is to provide strategic planning and insight for our clients' marketing programs, articulate solutions, and turn ideas into executable projects.
Matt attended Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland, and Manchester College, Oxford University, in Oxford, England. His areas of interests include relationship marketing strategy and execution, programmatic and community marketing strategy, and instructional systems design.
Matt's other interests include kayaking, ornithology, photography, and teaching his two young sons how to catch bluefish on the Nantucket sound.

Matthew's passion is using data to predict human behavior, creating those reactions that increase profitability and solidify relationships. His mantra is "No Problem too Small, No Solution too Large."
Matthew accrued his 25 years of marketing analytics experience while at IBM, GE, and UniFocus. Using psychometric methods learned while earning his Ph.D. at UCLA, he has spent his career driving data and analyses to understand what motivates people.
Matthew delves deeply into any challenge and is a bit adventurous. He accidently froze himself to a glacier while camping in Alaska and has gotten lost across much of Asia. His calm demeanor amidst the demands of an ever changing environment is consistent with 40 years practicing the Zen of pottery; he strives to throw pieces so consistent with the earth that if placed on the ground, they disappear.

Nancy makes sure that we have the right talent for today's work as well as tomorrow's vision. She's the caretaker of the bottom line, champion of process improvement, efficiency and quality, and an evangelist for client service excellence. She also happens to be our privacy officer.
Prior to Catalysis, Nancy spent ten years with Deloitte, where she learned the art of managing a professional services firm. She holds a BBA in Marketing from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Washington. Most recently Nancy obtained her Certified Information Privacy Professional accreditation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
Nancy and her husband have a houseful of kids, so these days her "outside activities" include math tutoring, spending entire weekends at swim meets, chauffeuring and doing laundry. Occasionally she finds time to spend an hour or two in her vegetable garden or cooking something other than macaroni and cheese for dinner. She's also a college football fan, but that hasn't been working out so well for her lately.

As Desktop Support technician at Catalysis, Norman takes care of technical issues related to our local desktops and laptops. He also handles some of the administrative needs and works closely with our network administrator to keep things going smoothly for Catalysis.
Before joining Catalysis, he worked at Deloitte for 10 years, and more recently with law firm Perkins Coie. Originally from California, Norman moved to Washington a few years ago and even though he misses the warm sunny weather of the Silicon Valley, he enjoys the fresh air and evergreen surroundings of the Pacific Northwest.
Spending time with his two kids is his biggest joy. He likes helping them with homework, taking them to fun places to play, or just hanging out at home with a good video game. He also enjoys biking, reading, and shopping with his wife and kids.

Aside from his "normal" life at Catalysis, Pat can be found DJing at local night clubs, looking for pick-up games of basketball, or frequenting local coffee shops and record stores. He also enjoys blogging, watching sports, reading up on the latest technology trends, and figuring out ways to take over the world.

Rhonda is a self-professed statistics geek with a professional goal of eliciting the “meaning of data” as part of the advanced marketing analytics team. She interprets data and presents results that are meaningful to clients, answer business questions, and are easily understood by both technical and less-quantitatively oriented individuals.
Prior to joining Catalysis, Rhonda finished both her MS in Statistics and MA in Anthropology at Washington State University. Her Master’s thesis explored the relationship between consumer food habits and social class systems. Knowing what, why, and how people tick in the market place is a passion for Rhonda and her experience in the field collecting data on consumer behavior gives her a unique perspective on data projects at Catalysis.
When Rhonda is not at work, she enjoys sewing, cooking, the outdoors, photography, traveling, and intellectual discussions surrounding cultural systems. One of her more recent projects included refinishing the inside of a 1969 camper where she did everything from painting to reupholstering. Rhonda’s past travels have primarily taken her to South and Central America, but she hopes to visit Central Asia in the near future.

Rick's job as Creative Director is to listen, understand, and solve complex business challenges with strategic visuals. As a true partner with clients, Rick enjoys the hunt for solutions as much as the actual success; it's all about the learning.
Rick started his career as a graphic designer working with his heroes at Sterling Brands. Upon moving to Seattle, he spent time as an art director, working both client-side and agency-side mixing advertising, interactive, and design into a hybrid of unstoppable awesome. Along the way he has picked up a shelf full of awards from The Seattle Show, Communication Arts, GDUSA, and has appeared in several design books.
When not engaged with clients, Rick can usually be found cavorting with his two kids or working in his screenprint shop - two pastimes that get him very dirty.

Front end development at Catalysis is constantly engaging, both creatively and technically, and Rick handles everything from microsites to multi-national email campaigns. Working closely with back-end developers to bring a project to life, Rick bridges the gap between form and functionality.
Prior to Catalysis, Rick worked as a user-experience designer, graphic designer, and web developer for studios in-and-around Seattle. Claiming Pierce County as his home, Rick Pierce went to school at Pierce College (the coincidence not overlooked) where he earned an Associates Degree in Arts and graduated in the top of his class.
Outside of work, Rick likes to play games, make games, and participate in other very nerdy things. Above all, though, he likes to spend his days with his wife and three-daughters at home (usually playing games).

He has also been known to fervently cheer on his hometown hockey team, even though they are in the midst of a 40-plus year Stanley Cup drought.

A DBA/database developer specializing in complex algorithms and processes, Sid provides Catalysis with SQL code development, ad hoc queries, data quality assurance, pushes, and pulls, and is contemplating redesigning the pushmi-pullyu for greater efficiency. Integration Services package refinement and C# code development are also among his job duties.
His background is in mathematics and physics, but he has worked with databases for (literally) decades. He has considerable experience with data analysis, too, in a variety of areas from city budget planning to electrochemistry.
In his rare spare moments, Sid enjoys listening to indie rock, and he occasionally attempts to play electric guitar. He also maintains an active interest in science, and you’ll often find him hidden behind a Scientific American on his long commute to/from work on the bus.

Need a PM that takes email and newsletter campaigns to the next level? Stephanie consistently works to improve and ensure the quality of all email and newsletter campaigns she touches, while at the same time turning whirlwind projects into smooth sailing ventures.
Prior to Catalysis, Stephanie worked at US Bank while finishing her BS in Economics at the University of Washington. But once onboard at Catalysis, her rockstar talent, drive, and dedication became obvious as she worked her way up from Operations Coordinator to Interactive Producer to Project Manager. Go Stephanie!.
When not working hard to solve the latest problem, you can find her moshing at the latest rock concert, at home with her nose in a book, or happily updating her checklists.

Technology is always evolving, so staying up to speed on the latest techniques is not just necessary, it’s what keeps this field exciting. As a front-end developer at Catalysis, Trent works hand-in-hand with creative minds and back-end developers to bring visual concepts to life on-screen.
Prior to Catalysis, Trent worked as a web development contractor for various clients throughout the Puget Sound area. Trent is a two-time alumni of Highline Community College, where he graduated at the top of his class in web programming, graphic design, and business administration.
Away from the office, Trent enjoys spending most of his time with his wife and two boys. As a former poker dealer, it is not out of the realm of possibility to spot him playing high quality poker tournaments within the Pacific Northwest or in Las Vegas.

Prior to Catalysis, Yuehua spent over 10 years in software development supporting web-based and wireless-based software businesses. He holds a M.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Montana.
When not working, Yuehua enjoys spending time with his family and friends both indoors and outdoors. He is especially interested in the study of tea culture.

Cooper joined Catalysis in early 2007 and enjoys coming to work every day. His typical day consists of attending meetings while resting on Derek's lap, lying on his bed mostly stretched out on his back, keeping track of Derek's whereabouts and following him around, and the occasional stealth run around the dome when he's had a stressful day. When not at work, Cooper enjoys pretty much the same.

The brothers are the Church's guard dogs. Recruited originally from a Shaolin temple in the Henan Province of China, their favorite Zen Buddhist activities are sleeping and begging for food. They visit the office regularly where they sit with utmost stillness. They can often be seen on walks along Madison and sleeping in the back of the car on trips down to Grand Dad's house, where they ferociously chase butterflies and sit contemplating sunsets and which bush to visit next.

As Chief Instigator, Lemon fills the Catalysis office with hi-jinx and tail chasing. She is a real team player, and will offer help with finishing lunches or letting you scratch her belly. She has also been known to walk around the office with a squeaky dragon in-tow, especially when client calls or meetings are taking place. When she's not roaming the office, Lemon enjoys long walks on the beach where she can chase birds and bark at motorcycles. She's also been known to frequent a dog park or two, usually followed immediately by a nice, long nap.

Reno, recently rescued from an animal shelter, brings to Catalysis a natural talent for boosting morale. He loves being the center of attention and prefers that no one pass him by without giving him a good, friendly scratch behind the ears. Reno enjoys coming to work and having so many dog lovers, and even some dog co-workers, to sniff. He also finds both naps with his stuffed-toy hamster by his side and an occasional tasty rawhide chew after a long day to be quite delightful.

We could tell you the usual stuff about having a "methodology" and show you the pretty graphic that explains our approach but does that really mean anything?
Ultimately what’s really important to our clients is that we get it done, and that we get it done right. The truth is, "right" means different things to different clients and there really is no one-size-fits-all solution.
So, here’s what really happens. Before we do anything else we take the time to get to know you, your business, your goals and, most importantly, your audience. Using what we’ve learned we collaborate with you to create the integrated campaign that not only helps you make the right connections with your audience but provides the measurement infrastructure to prove it to you.
Then we build, launch, measure and optimize. Along the way we ask lots of questions, challenge your assumptions, and look outside the proverbial box.
Bottom line – we don’t have a magic wand to wave but we do have a team of thoughtful, creative, and slightly geeky folks with the experience, patience and perseverance to blow away "right."
That’s our approach.
Yes, it’s a church. Well, it used to be a church, but now it’s our home. From the beautiful stained glass to the incredible acoustics, the clanking radiators, and the ghost that supposedly roams the halls at night, its heritage certainly can’t be escaped, but we have managed to put our own mark on it. The big, open spaces are just perfect for both our collaborative work style and the occasional wrestling match between the more-than-welcome dogs that join us every day. And, it’s on the National Register of Historic Places, which apparently means that anyone can stop by any time and have a peek. Feel free to do the same, we'd love to show you around.
It may sound cliché to say it, but we're going to say it anyway. Our clients and partners are some of the best and brightest in the business and it has truly been our privilege to work with them.
